Purchase order with backorder

When goods arrive at your warehouse, the purchase order gets the status “delivered”. Once the purchase order is set to “delivered”, receiving or unpacking the goods is easy. Simply use the “purchase orders” menu. More information about taking delivery of a purchase order can be found in “Receive a Purchase Order”. Your order may not always be delivered in full. In that case, Webship Online will create a backorder. But how do you keep track of all of this?

Backorder

Webship Online automatically creates backorders for SKUs and items that have been announced but haven’t been delivered. You can easily trace backorders by entering the original order number and adding the suffix “-BO”. In other words, multiple backorders can be created from a single purchase order. This is the case when the backorder delivery again contains items that are not delivered.

How much was delivered?

If a purchase order contains one or more backorders, how do you keep track? Webship Online makes your life easy! You only need to look at the original purchase order to see how many backorders have been created and get an overview of the total order. By using the original purchase order, you can not only see the number of backorders, but also what has been delivered in the various backorders. Using the original purchase order, you can quickly see the total quantity delivered. So, there’s no need to break out your calculator and add up different purchase orders (backorders) yourself.
